This Unknown Feeling

It's in this one moment-
That my eyes are truly opened

When the world around me is torn-
My childish heart exiles it's warmth

There are no real words-
To express this level of hurt

My tears want to go berserk-
But the shattered urge...is purged
-
Breathless ever after
Free-falling faster

Everyday masks were trustful
For reasons that seemed hopeful

I yearned for reality to be rendered true
I wanted it to represent what I would never lose

Eyes torn wide / Darkness swallows light
Suddenly side-swiped / Ripped your disguise
Spite grows inside / Stripped my pride
My humanity's demise / Destroyed and deprived

My mind lay in ruins
There's nothing worth holding

Attachments never really last
That realization- I finally grasped

Truth can be the victim of fiction
And trust can quickly be abandoned
-
It's within any second-
That hope itself can be taken for granted

There's always a source at fault-
Whether a betrayal or a self-inflicting cause

The pieces of my soul will never forget-
What it felt like to almost be whole once again

Now my motivation and inspiration darken-
While I indulge...in...this unknown feeling
Everything has been taken away
Except the fear of if it happening again

This poem is written for my project, titled "The Prodigy's Suicide"
In volume five: Memories Of Nothing

-This Unknown Feeling- Drowning Out The World
Drowning Out The World

I find myself in the sounds
I release my pain in the lyrics
Enveloping peace is found
The vibes calm my spirit

But when silence falls
Reality and time stop
And then my mind floods
With ever-consuming thoughts
-
The walls in my head break down
The serenity within goes silent
And every regret cries out
My memories become violent

I get this sensation
That my soul is too damaged

A dreadful realization
There's nothing left of me to salvage

Music is just a distraction
To blind myself from the carnage

I remain behind the destruction
Where darkness has the advantage

Remnants of rhyme hinder
Calling out to me once more

In Between Dreams
In Between Dreams

A fragment of a second
Just   one   slight   glance

You're the only person
That   puts   me   in   a   trance

I feel so close to you
But   I   am   so   far   away

If only you knew
I   felt   this   way
-
To fully express this feeling
It's like raw torture at heart
Because you live on without knowing
And it makes me desire you even more

A solace night of dreaming
I thought I never would have it
This longing luxury of sleeping
It's what I've always wanted

I thought it was too much to ask for
A sense of rest and relief
I feel as if it's more than I deserve
It's been so long since I had this nightmaric dise

The Coward (I Am) The Hero (Is Damned)

Every choice that I've made always failed / always failed
Every day I looked death in the eyes, and I smiled / I smiled
I guess I just gave up somewhere in the beginning / in the beginning
Piece by piece, I let myself go, I'm slowly breaking / I'm slowly breaking

Taunting my own useless mortality / preaching to the ashen-winged angel
This lifespan of mine is such treachery / the golden doors are too judgmental

My worst enemy is also my own reflection / a war to be unleashed
My only friends are the tears that keep dripping / though they still leave me

Far too long have I been on my life's edge

I like the confused, chaotic sort of feeling this poem has.

And I like the part "there are no real words to express..." because it's true that there are some things that just can't be conveyed with any real words.
